Colts Fall to Warrenton Wolfpack in Championship Game, 13-6 at Louisa High School
The Colts run to a perfect season was ended by their neighbors to the North, as the Wolfpack used a ball-control offense to win the crucial 'Time of Possession' battle. The normally, high-powered Colts offense was held in check on this freezing day, save for a tough 20-yard throw and catch in traffic, courtesy of QB Matt Kerns and WR Trae Dutton. That score, right before the half, drew the Colts even with the Wolfpack at 6-6. The second half proved to be a defensive battle as the Wolfpack methodically ran their way down field for the game-clinching score, on the legs of their star player, Johnson.
All was not lost, as this was one of the most successful seasons in Colts history. All of the hard work players, coaches, cheerleaders, and parents put in the past year proved to well-worth the ride the FCYFC Colts took to the Championship Game.

Colts Complete Sweep of Packers 27-0: Week Eight
The warmth returned to Thornburg Middle School on Saturday, as did another dominating performance for the home-standing Colts. Multiple players got into the act as Matt 'Golden Arm' Kerns threw deep to glue-handed Flanker Trae Dutton again, for a 55-yard touchdown. Antae Motton broke off another one of his patented 50-yard touchdown scampers. Lastly, Dean Hasan set-the-table for all of these quick-strike plays as he lowered his pads, picked-up steam and ran straight into the teeth of the Packers Defense.
Not to be outdone, the Defense forced 5 turnovers, highlighted by Defensive Lineman Cameron Betts' first fumble-recovery of the season, Safety Zach Johnson's electrifying 65 yard interception return to the Packer's 3 yard line, and another diving interception from Corner Back Jake Miles.
The Packers were held to just two First Downs on the day, which only added to the number of scoring chances by the Offense. By the end of the game players were lined up behind Head Coach Russ Miles waiting to run a Dive Play. It truly was a team effort for the Colts.

Colts Board Noah's Ark and Shutout Raiders 19-0: Week Seven
On a rain-soaked field at Thornburg Middle School, the Colts paid little attention to the soggy conditions, sloshed their way to another victory and completed the season sweep of the Richmond Raiders.
Another solid effort from the Defense, which allowed only one Raider first down all game, was highlighted by another standout performance by DE Tristen Baxter. Baxter continually held his containment at his left DE position and added another fumble recovery to his impressive resume.
On Offense, QB Matt Kerns started the fireworks with a perfect pass into the waiting hands of FL Trae Dutton for a 45-yard touchdown. Antae Motton capped the scoring with a 25-yard touchdown scamper in the 4th Quarter. Below: The rain falls but Sam and the Colts fight on.

Colts Nip Wildcats at the Finish 13-6 in OT: Week Six
The chill of the Fall was evident in Orange County this weekend, but all of the goose-bumps were caused by a knock-down drag-out battle between the Louisa Wildcats and the Colts. In a thriller contest, the Colts prevailed in OT after a Wildcat Running Back failed to get outside of the containment of the Colts Defense.
The Colts, had to rally from a 6-0 deficit to tie the game at 6-6 after Trae Dutton's touchdown. Scoring the go-ahead touchdown seemed destined, but the Wildcats refused to yield much yardage on Defense. The Colts drove the ball to the Wildcats' 30 yard line but they couldn't get any closer and turned the ball over on downs. Jake Miles intercepted his first pass of the year and returned it to the Wildcat 20 yard line before being tackled; however, time expired on the play and it was on to the first Overtime game of the year. Trae Dutton pushed his way into the endzone on 4th down and goal from the 2 yard line, and rammed in the all-important Extra Point, for the final margin. Below: Trae Dutton plunges into the endzone for the winning touchdown.

Colts Send Packers Packing 37-0: Week Five
In Thornburg, the Colts used a ball controlling Offense and another stifling Defensive effort to shutout the Stafford Packers 37-0. The first two drives were the products of methodically moving the ball down the field on the legs of Dean Hasan and Trae Dutton. Antae Motton got back into the scoring column this weekend, as well with a nifty 45-yard touchdown run. As the Packers made their defensive adjustment by crowding the line of scrimmage, it was time to introduce Jordan DeMarco to the Defense.
QB Matt Kerns, for the second straight game, sold his ball fakes and allowed just enough time for the TE to release down field. The result, a perfectly thrown spiral into the waiting hands of the TE. The Defense was highlighted by several turnovers, and for the second straight week, a defensive player scored his first career touchdown. Tristen Baxter did the honors this week, as he picked up a fumble, after a crushing hit by LB Aaron West on the Packers QB. Baxter then scooped up the pigskin and rambled 35 yards for a touchdown. Below: Antae runs to paydirt.

Colts Stampede Essex 34-0: Week Four
On a postcard-type day in Spotsylvania, the Colts were rude hosts to their opponent from Essex in a 34-0 victory. Four different Colts scored this week leading to another balanced attack.
The Defense was able to force two turnovers, one highlighted by a recovered fumble in the endzone by Jake Miles. The recurring theme for the Offense seems to be the physical tone that Dean Hasan gives the team from his Full Back position. That was evident, again, yesterday has Dean rumbled through the secondary on numerous occasions. Dean ended his runs by lowering his shoulder pads, just like his coaches have told him. Proving his toughness, he bounced back from a jarring hit on the goal line, and returned the game in his usual gritty form.
Trae Dutton and Antae Motton provide the lightening-strike, quick hole-hitting runs and Dean provides the thundering, bull-dozing runs of a 'throwback' Full Back.
Another highlight was the superb goal line blocking the Offensive Line did on Curtis Patillo's touchdown of the year. Below: Trae is about to use one of his signature moves.

Colts Prevail Against Hurricanes' Forces 7-0: Week Three
In Thornburg, the Colts raised their record to 3-0 in a hard fought ball game by defeating the Fredericksburg Hurricanes 7-0. The Offensive Line's blocking and the blocking/running of Full Back Dean Hasan, set the tone in this Divisional tilt.
The Defense held on all of the Canes attempts to capitalize in the redzone, as the Wide Receiver screen was a staple of their Offense. Fortunately on this day, a last ditch effort on 4th down was unsuccessful and the Colts only needed to run the clock out.
As the Colts were called for one of their six penalties on the day, a 4th down play that needed 15 yards to go for a 1st down, stared them in face. Quarterback Matt Kerns carried out his ball fakes a-la-Peyton Manning and lofted a perfect pass into the outstretched hands of Tight End Jordan DeMarco, for a huge conversion. After that all the Colts had to do was hand off to Running Back Trae Dutton twice and then kneel down to run out the clock. Below: Aaron buries opposition.

Colts Conquer Richmond's Raiders 34-6: Week Two
The Colts took their show on the road in a caravan down Route 17 to Richmond County, Virginia this weekend, and prevailed against the Richmond Raiders 34-6. The offense had 5 different players score touchdowns and the Defense held their foes to only two 1st Downs all game. The Raiders lone score came on the games opening kickoff and the deep safety weaving through would-be Colts tacklers for a 65-yard Touchdown. Below: What a nice stiff arm by Trae Dutton.

Colts Tame Louisa Wildcats 6-0: Week One
The Colts opened up the 2008 FAYFL season on the road in Louisa County, Virginia this past weekend, and survived 90 degree temperatures and a hungry Louisa Wildcat team 6-0. The Defense led the charge with a forced fumble on the 5 yard line, that was recovered by Matt Kerns. He actually ripped-it from the grasp of the Louisa ball-carrier as the Referee looked for possession.
The Offense's lone score came on a 1-yard plunge by Antae Motton, as he lowered his shoulder-pads and forced his way behind Cameron Betts and didn't stop until he had hit paydirt. With the Defense holding in the red zone, the Colts only needed to run out the clock. After a couple penalties, the game was salted away on two different plays, first a long Matt Kerns to Jordan DeMarco pass play for 15 yards. The second came from an off-tackle run by Trae Dutton for 25 yards on 4th and 20. It wasn't until those clinching plays, that the Colts could kneel down and run out the clock. Below: Baxter and rest of Colts 'D' contort to make the tackle.
